First Blog Post: A new beginning

Here’s to a new beginning, and the official opening of this website dedicated to financial planning and investment strategies in Singapore. Having been in the financial services industry for several years, I was encouraged by one of my clients to create a website, in addition to my Facebook page, to engage with a broader audience. This platform will cover not just finance, but also other interests like music, hobbies, and more. After all, everyone is unique, and this blog will highlight how my approach to financial advisory differs from others

Why I Love My Career in Financial Services

The financial advisory industry in Singapore is vast, with thousands of financial advisors. However, each advisor brings something unique to the table, whether it’s their circle of friends, network, or the way they communicate with clients. For me, building strong relationships and rapport with my clients is the foundation of my success. Over the years, I’ve found that sharing similar interests in hobbies, lifestyles, and financial perspectives has allowed me to establish strong working relationships.

My strategy for financial planning sets me apart from others. My clients often refer to me as their “financial doctor” or a “very good strategist,” someone they value and trust deeply. This mutual trust is what drives me in my career. The sense of satisfaction I get when my clients appreciate my services is immeasurable.

The Flexibility and Independence of a Financial Advisor

One of the aspects I love about my career in financial services is the flexibility it offers. As a financial advisor in Singapore, I can meet people, manage my own time, and maintain a balance between my career and personal life. This career allows me to control how I want to build my business. Additionally, I run a small startup where I focus on marketing and outreach, and the skills I’ve gained in financial planning have been incredibly useful in growing this business.

Why Financial Planning Matters

Over the years, my passion for financial planning has grown. I strongly advocate for the importance of risk management, wealth accumulation, and financial security in today’s modern society. Life insurance, a crucial component of financial planning, shouldn’t be overlooked, even if you’re young. Life insurance plays a vital role in risk management, retirement planning, and investment planning.

  • Risk management ensures that you have a financial safety net when unexpected events like premature death, disability, or illness occur.
  • Retirement planning involves building wealth during your working years to achieve financial independence by your desired retirement age.
  • Investment planning focuses on purchasing various financial instruments to meet your investment goals and grow your wealth, beyond traditional options like endowments and savings plans.

This topic is extensive, and I plan to explore it further in future blog posts.

Growth in Financial Planning and Wealth Management

Just like the little tree above, there’s always growth in my career, my side business, and the way I help my clients build their finances over the long term. This growth is mutual—I continue to learn, improve, and manage my wealth better as I guide my clients on their financial journeys.

In summary, this is a brief introduction to what I do. In upcoming posts, I hope to share more insights into not only financial planning but also other interests in life.
